Meet The Leadership
Mirtha Villarreal-Younger
Army Combat Veteran | Business Leader | Veteran Advocate | Co-Founder of REDEEM
Mirtha Villarreal-Younger has built her career around one central purpose: creating meaningful opportunities for Veterans, Military Families, and underserved communities. From military service and state government leadership to entrepreneurship and technology, her work reflects a lifelong commitment to service, advocacy, and positive change.
A Career Rooted In Service
Mirtha is an Army combat veteran whose military experience shaped the values that continue to guide her work today. Leadership, accountability, integrity, and service have remained constant throughout every stage of her career.
After serving in uniform, she continued supporting the military community through a series of senior leadership positions within California state government. Her roles included Deputy Secretary for Minority Veterans at the California Department of Veterans Affairs, Chief of Staff for the California State Military Reserve, Director of State Personnel, and Deputy Director of Public Affairs for the California Military Department.
Through this work, Mirtha advocated for Veterans, strengthened access to services, and helped build partnerships between government agencies, military organizations, and local communities.
Leadership, Advocacy, And Entrepreneurship
Today, Mirtha serves as President and CEO of Agile Construction Inc., a veteran-owned federal construction firm serving government agencies.
Under her leadership, Agile Construction has expanded its presence in the federal marketplace through a strong foundation of integrity, safety, quality, and service. The company also reflects Mirtha’s broader commitment to creating employment and professional opportunities for fellow Veterans.
Her leadership extends beyond business. Mirtha remains a trusted voice on veteran affairs, workforce development, education, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. She was recognized as California Veteran of the Year by the Disabled American Veterans and continues to advocate for programs that improve the lives of Veterans and their families.
Mirtha is also a doctoral candidate, further strengthening her ability to combine lived experience, executive leadership, and academic research in her work.
Why She Co-Founded REDEEM
Throughout her career, Mirtha repeatedly saw the same challenge: Veterans had earned valuable benefits and opportunities but often did not know where to find them, whether they qualified, or how to begin.
She co-founded REDEEM to help close that gap.
Built by Veterans for Veterans, REDEEM brings trusted resources and opportunities together across six key areas: Real Estate and Housing, Education, Disability and Health, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Miscellaneous Benefits.
For Mirtha, REDEEM is more than a technology platform. It is an extension of a career dedicated to helping others understand their options, access meaningful opportunities, and move forward with confidence.
